Marrissa Macaraeg

A visual love story...

Marrissa Macaraeg

"Moving between screen and surface with equal fluency."

Drawing from a profound love for color, pattern, and print, Marrissa Macaraeg makes multimedia art meant to feel both joyful and lasting. Her practice embraces an ornamental visual language, taking subtle cues from the history of textile craft. What emerges is a thoughtful blend of traditional artistry and a polished contemporary outlook.

A San Francisco native, Marrissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from San Francisco State University, where she concentrated on painting and art history. Twenty-plus years later, she's shaped the look of brands you know — Athleta, Old Navy, Gap, JanSport, and Pottery Barn—she approaches every project with an eye for enduring, beautifully crafted design.

Outside the studio, Marrissa is a children's book author, app developer, and classic artist, channeling her creative voice into both narrative and digital spaces. Her work in oils carries the same rich palette and considered composition found in her commercial designs—textured, layered, and full of expressive mark-making.

Based in the Bay Area, she collaborates with brands and clients who appreciate intentional design rooted in craft and creative thinking.
